This is a "must do" event if your intentions are to do the Hawkesbury Classic in October.
The Myall Classic – kayak and canoe race has established itself as an iconic event on the Australian marathon racing calendar. The Myall Classic is one of the ‘Big Three’ flatwater marathon races in Australia.
Every year, in September, hundreds of paddlers gather at Tea Gardens to battle it out on the stunning waters of the Myall Lakes. With three events – the 12km, 27km and 47 km, the Myall Classic has something for everyone – whether you’re a competitive paddler looking for some exciting racing or a recreational paddler wanting to soak up some of the stunning scenery and pristine waters of the Myall Lakes.
On top of some great paddling to be had, the Myall Classic raises money for the Cure for Life Foundation. Cure For Life is a foundation aimed at supporting advancements in the treatment of brain cancer.
The action starts on the banks of the Myall River opposite the Tea Gardens Hotel Motel, Marine Drive, Tea Gardens at 8am.
